چکیده

The use of agricultural by-products has been widely studied to develop effective and inexpensive adsorbent for heavy metal removal. In this study, sago ( M.sagu ) fly ash (FA) was chemically modified afford an operational Pb (II) elimination from water. Chemical modification carried out via acid-base treatment using NaOH HCl. (MFA) characterized proximate, surface morphology, functional groups' area analyses. effects adsorption parameters, namely, initial concentration, sorbent dosage contact time on the eradication by MFA analyzed in batch experiments with Langmuir Freundlich isotherms. Optimization removal response methodology (RSM) approach. Results revealed that chemical successfully enhanced adsorptive properties (BET area: 231.4 m 2 /g, fixed carbon: 55.83%). exhibits better efficiency (90.8%) compared FA (63.6%) at following condition: concentration (5 ppm), (30 min) agitation speed (150 rpm). fitted well isotherm (R >0.9). RSM study suggested optimum 99.4% conditions: (20 (2 h) (0.6 g/50 mL). results concluded potential condition aqueous environment as a low cost adsorbent, larger scale.

Heavy Metals Removal on Dye – Modified Fly Ash Substrates

The fly ash is a cheap waste materials which can be an efficient substrate in wastewater treatment for the immobilization of heavy metals, mainly Cd, Pb, Ni, Zn, Cu, and for dyes removal. The use of FA for heavy metals removal, from wastewaters resulted in the dye finishing industry, faces a supplementary problem, related to the dyes affinity for oxide surfaces. Working with industrial wastewat...

Evaluation of removal efficiency of 2-chlorophenol in aquatic environments by modified fly ash

Background: Chlorophenols are classified as priority toxic pollutants. These acidic organic compounds present a serious potential hazard for human health and aquatic life. Chlorophenols accumulate in water, soil and air due to high stability, and impart an unpleasant taste and odor to drinking water and can exert negative effects on different biological processes. Among the different methods of...

Cadmium Removal from Contaminated Water Using Polyelectrolyte-Coated Industrial Waste Fly Ash

Fly ash (FA) is a major industrial waste generated from power stations that add extra cost for proper disposal. Recent research efforts have consequently focused on developing ways to make use of FA in environmentally sound applications. This study, therefore, investigates the potential ability of raw fly ash (RFA) and polyelectrolyte-coated fly ash (PEFA) to remove cadmium (Cd) from polluted w...

Electrodialytic removal of Cd from biomass combustion fly ash suspensions.

Due to relatively high concentrations of Cd, biomass combustion fly ashes often fail to meet Danish legislative requirements for recycling as fertilizer. In this study, the potential of using electrodialytic remediation for removal of Cd from four different biomass combustion fly ashes was investigated with the aim of enabling reuse of the ashes. The ashes originated from combustion of straw (t...
